Here are some general pictures of life post life 180. Life does go on and it can still be good.
In September 2016, my life took a 180 degree turn when diagnosed with Transverse Myelitis. This was followed by a diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis in December 2016, and Optic Neuritis in January 2017.
I began writing about my experiences as a way to cope with my sense of loss and new realities and move forward in hope. As I learn to let go of my identity as a teacher and small business owner, I have begun to find new beginnings and joys that all began with a seed of hope. It is my desire to share this with others who might be experiencing similar circumstances or just wondering what it is like to navigate this journey.
I invite you all to follow me in the journey as I search for hope for life at 180 degree turn.
Why I write
I have always enjoyed writing. When I was diagnosed with first Transverse Myelitis, then MS, then Optic Neuritis all within a six month period, I found I needed to write. It was therapeutic. It gave me a way to work through it all and put a positive spin on life again. I created this blog to share my experiences with others who may be having similar struggles as a means of encouragement.
Writing is something my conditions haven't taken away from me, but given back to me with renewed meaning, It gives me hope, purpose, and joy, and it's my goal to share that with others each week.
